Our office recently installed KAV 6.0. One of computers has to receive printing file from remote location. After the installation of KAV 6.0, the computer failed to print but we eventually were able to print by disabling "stealth mode" on Internet zone. Did we handle the issue correctly? Do we compromise the security by un-checking the stealth mode? Thank you for your assistance. Kio

You are fine and did not compromise your security.

Some other comments: I think you probably have Kaspersky Internet Security 6 (KIS 6) rather than KAV 6. Kav6 doesn't have a firewall and I believe the stealth was related to the firewall portion. Of course it's been so long since I used 6 that I may be mistaken. Also, stealth is when the ports have no response to a unsolicited query. When stealth is not active, the port is closed and you should be fine.

Thank you for your comments. Ours is Kaspersky WorkSpace Security but when I open the icon on my desktop it says Anti-Virus 6.0. Anyway, Thank you again for your help.

Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations certainly has a Anti-Hacker (Firewall) with stealth-option implemented.

Move your mouse over the trayicon of Kaspersky next to the time and date in the taskbar and have a look for the version which is shown in the balloon popping up.

How are the computers connected to that remote location? Via VPN? The computer with the printer doesn't share his ressources directly to the internet certainly, does it?
