Full Version: Cannot find firewall in Setting

Hi all,

So on my Firefox I keep getting a "could not connect" error. But, thankfully I have found a solution. Right click on KIS, go to Setting, and under Protection find the 'Firewall' tap to do the rest. The odd thing is - there is no 'Firewall' under Protection. I just have: Anti-Malware, System Security, Online Secuirty, Content Filtering. Then Scan, Update, Options.

So, basically I know how to fix my issue, but since I don't have a way to get to 'Firewall' from Protection, there is no way to fix it. Does anyone know what is going on with my KIS? Can anyone please help, as it is very annoying to keep loading pages that don't want to fully load. Oh, and it's even worse when you know how to fix it put cannot.

Hello,

Just clik on Settings>System Security and you will find the firewall option.

I found that, thank you. But, that isn't what I need. I need to do this: configuring kaspersky but am unable to get pass step four, as my Settings area looks nothing like that. It lacks several of the items listed.
kikesan
You have the 2009 version and it explains why you cannot do the steps. Also, make sure you have Firefox under Trusted group (Clik on Aplications under control and search for Firefox) if it is not on Trusted just drag and drop to Trusted.
And, post a GSI Log (intructions here.)

NOTE: due a personal reason, please, in case I don't answer in 24hrs after you post, send a PM to a moderator.

Thank You

Firefox is currently under Trusted. That must not be the problem. I posted a GSI Log and it told me to update the Kaspersky product, so I will try that as well.
kikesan
ok, if that doesn't work, please post your GSI to review it and try to find what is causing the problems.

It did not work. The session is over 500 pages and when I try to post it, my laptop freezes. Is there a certain part you need? I can simply send you that.

You should upload your GSI to http://gsi.kaspersky.fr/ (is not necessary to be registered) and post the link of your report.

Hi.

You will have to uninstall Trend Micro, two AV's will conflict.

Honestly, I thought that was deleted months ago. I've found the driver and deleted it. Hopefully, that helps. Thanks for the info.
nikkibell84
Alright, I'm really just at a lost now. I'm also, truth me told, getting rather annoyed. I deleted:

Filename C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware\mbamext.dll
C:\Windows\System32\drivers\tmtdi.sys - Trend Micro Network Security Components 2.1
Filename C:\Windows\System32\drivers\tmxpflt.sys - VSAPI
Filename C:\Windows\System32\drivers\vsapint.sys - VSAPI
Filename C:\Windows\System32\drivers\tmpreflt.sys - VSAPI

I tried to delete:

C:\Windows\Downloaded Program Files\TSEasyInstallMgr.dll - TrendSecure

But, I couldn't find it. Everything else listed under things that can possibly interfere with the Kaspersky system are apart of my computer, so I'm not deleting them. I don't know what to do,

Please run GSI utility again and post link to the new report, along with a description of your current issues.

Here is the issue: I can go onto Foxfire and browse around with no real problem. But, at least five times a day, if not more, I get an error saying that Foxfire could not connect to a site. It's actually happening more and more all the time. I just had to redo this GSI Parser three times. :/ And it's not unusual sites. It's sites I visit everyday, such as yahoo or even my yahoo homepage or email sites. I connected Foxfire and they told me it was an issue with Kaspersky not Foxfire. They actually sent me a way to solve it. The only issue was I couldn't get to 'Settings' on my Kaspersky. When I got to 'Protection', 'Settings' is not listed. So, I have the solution, just no way to get to where I need to be to preform the solution.

It cannot be my computer, as IE is working wonderfully. I just dislike using it.

An example of the page I get when I try to get to certain pages:

Address Not Found

Firefox can't find the server at gsi.kaspersky.fr.

The browser could not find the host server for the provided address.

* Did you make a mistake when typing the domain? (e.g. "ww.mozilla.org" instead of "www.mozilla.org")
* Are you certain this domain address exists? Its registration may have expired.
* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check your network connection and DNS server settings.
* Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.

There are 8 things that are supposedly incompatible softwares, but all but one (which I cannot find anywhere on my computer) seem to be apart of my operating system.

1) Settings are in the upper right corner of the main Kaspersky window.

2) Please confirm that Windows firewall and Defender are both disabled.

3) Uninstall Kaspersky > reboot > then run the Trend Micro removal tool: http://solutionfile.trendmicro.com/solutio...Tool_32-bit.exe Instructions, see: http://esupport.trendmicro.com/Pages/How-d...in-my-comp.aspx

Reboot after tool use. Then reinstall Kaspersky > reboot.

I used the Trend Micro removal tool, as well as the Windows Install Clean Up tool and that darn TSEasyInstallMgr.dll is still there! I cannot even find it when I search for it on my laptop - and I have looked everywhere. I also follow your directions, and I'm still getting the issue of Foxfire not connecting to certain sites (usually different ones) throughout the day. dash1.gif
