Dear friend,
one shutdown.bat virus attack to my server 2003
i know kaspersky sure delete this virus because i myself has deleted it in other coustomer's computer by workstation 6.0
but in this case the operating system is changed .

Inthis server 2003 computer symantec antivirus has installed in it . iuninstall it completely even quarantine files too. then after i haveinstalled kaspersky 6.0 for server in my computer and update it viaadmin kit update folder and restart it.


Afterrestart the computer full computer scan is done my by me but when itstarts the SHUTDOWN in 60 second dialogue box shown i delete it bycommand prompt but to it comes. after some time my computer restartscontineously .

what to do then.

after removing kaspersky the problem solved .

hello,
there might be several reasons:

1) you still have some active Symantec's components (e.g. loaded drivers, running services, etc.)
2) you are infected
3) some of KAV drivers are causing problem

Solutions....smile.gif...

1) execute getsysteminfo and check on the online parser if there's something wrong...
2) it would be helpful to scan the server's OS via Rescue CD....HJT's log might give you hints about infection....
3) uninstall KAV for Server, install it again but do not update it; configure updater settings in order to not download application patches (only pattern DB) and run the updater...check if the loop still occurs...
