I was handed an install package of 45 licenses for kaspersky 6.0 and a key with the downloadable file. I have been assigned the task of configuring it so that it is available on the file server for people to download as their previous anti-virus software expires. We only want file antivirus installed and we want it to be very simple - to install without requiring users to do anything but clicking the install. I have an install.cfg file but I can't get it to install only the components of the software we want to. We are not using the administration kit.

I've been reading a lot about how to do this.

http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=203892741 - is about the setup.ini but even though I set it as I wanted it the program still installs with all components

http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showt...;hl=install.cfg - is about how to build an executable to do what I want with preconfigured settings - this gets me pretty close but I can't get it to install only specific components. How do I make this do a component specific install?

Anyone had any luck with this? The administration kit is NOT an option, as frustrating as that is.

This method works great, I think you are using the wrong setup file for KAV. You should not put the setup.ini next to the file kav6.0.3.837_winwksen.exe. This one is a self-extracted archive that you have to extract in a specific folder first to get 6 files, including setup.exe, kav6ws.en.msi, and so on.
Here you put your setup.ini and use setup.exe with required parameters to perform a customized installation
