I am running server 2000 OS on one of my servers. I installed Kaspersky Enterprise Version 6.0.something. I got to the end of the installation, and there was a prompt that said install successfull, and there was a check box to restart the machine, and a finish button. I unchecked the restart box, and clicked finish. The machine restarted anyhow, and when it finished through the boot cycle there was no login box...Just a blank blue screen.

Hello rnachman and welcome to the forum.

Do you have SP4 and Rolluppackage for windows 2000 installed? If there are no citrix-, terminal services or clustering services running, I would recommend installing Kaspersky anti-virus for windows servers (not the enterprise edition).

Man...I can't do anything on the machine right now. I can't even boot into safe mode. If I can get the machine up and running, I will try a different version of Kaspersky.

If you get it running, try changing the value of 'Start' to 2 in the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\klif

If you do get into safe mode, it might be worth removing KB954211 / KB958690. These seem to provoke very similar behaviour on our W2k servers with kaspersky installed. (Altought I admit we usualy can get into safe mode)
