Hi,
in my LAN I have a workstation (Windows XP PRO SP2) on which I have installed hMailServer (which I use as a pop connector) and Kaspersky 6.0 for Windows Workstation. I am trying to configure the Anti-Spam of Kaspersky 6.0 for Windows Workstation, but I'm not able to apply the rules regarding both white list and black list.
In detail if, for example, I put *@gmail.com into the black list I continue to receive the messages from that domain anyway.
Why?
Thanks in advance

well... what are you using as email-client? KAV for Workstations is not intended to be used for fighting spam on 'email-server' as hmailserver supposes to be.

The email-client I use is Outlook Express.
The scenario:
1. hMailServer downloads messages for every mailbox (used as pop connector as I said)
2. I configured 2 rules in hMailServer which forwards into an IMAP folder every massage which contains "[!! " or "[?? " in the subject (those rules work fine)
3. I use Outlook Express just to watch the IMAP folder which contain all my spam
4. Every client in the LAN downloads, from its mailbox defined in hMailServer, his own messages (not tagged as spam)
Since the IMAP folder contains a lot messages which have "[!! " or "[?? " (inserted from KAV in the subjet) I suppose that the KAV does it’s job correctly.
If I put *@gmail.com in the black list, why doesn’t KAV put "[!! " or "[?? " in the subject of the incoming messages from that domain? It seams to me the it doesn’t apply the defined rules in the black list as well as in the white list

There are many difficulties concerning IMAP protocol and Outlook Express:
- Outlook Express works good only with local stored messages (POP3), it doesn't support plugin architecture:migrate to Microsoft Office Outlook.
- OE doesn't apply its rules to not local messages, and our Anti-Spam functions just so (via rules) in case of OE;
- the message header cannot be changed, because OE cannot change messages on the mailserver.
The only thing you will get is marking messages as SPAM when opening them in separate window.
So just take such behaviour as ''by default'' in case of IMAP + OE.
