Full Version: OUTLOOK.EXE IEXPLORE.EXE keep changing and 6.0.2.690 blocks them

Hi,

Since the 1st April 2009, all our workstations running Kaspersky 6.0.2.690 with latest updates are warning that OUTLOOK.EXE has been changed - Allow or Block ?
Its also warning about EXPLORER.EXE , WMPLAYER.EXE and IEXPLORE.EXE
I can't see any signs of any viruses, but am worried why its doing this ? It happens on my PC, and I supposedly have Windows Update turned off.

PS - noticed that someone else has seen this exact behaviour on another Kaspersky forum:

I'm getting the same with version 6.0.3.837 with hotfix c.d.e.f.g.h

If you allow the file, it flags up again later.

Yep - its still happening with us today and we have efghijk hotfixes.

Very worrying when its starts happening on Aprils fool day - especially with all the talk of dormant viruses waking up on the news that morning !!

.. adding myself to the list -- having the issue even after .i hotfix was installed. (6.0.3.837) -- though .i appears only to be updating non-vista machines (my 1 vista box is at .h, update service isn't requesting .i from kaspersky's update servers)

Best,

Same thing here with various apps and that's after the latest patches. Is there a new fix for this or are we being kept in the dark again?

Here we go again, I guess... after a recent update (within last few days) we're starting to see this with the Outlook 2007 executable. Kav version is 6.0.4.1212.

AFAIK, this 'problem' occured after microsoft patchday, where the files like outlook.exe and stuff were really changed.

Fair enough. But the real issue is that KAV is throwing up this notice EVERY SINGLE TIME that Outlook is started. You would think that once you "ALLOW"'ed the application, KAV would update its reference database.
