As the XP sp3 work stations are rebooting with an KAV 6.0.3.387 update, the anti-spam module is failing to start, ie:

Anti-Spam failed (initialization error) 4/1/2009 2:22:22 PM 4/1/2009 2:22:33 PM 0 bytes

and some machines are showing Real-time protection not running but as far as I can tell it is running looking at the services and app. The whole thing is acting strange. We were it with a few hundred virus on a trusted web page the other day from a vender, I'm wondering if one might have slipped through.

We are experiencing the exact same problem, but with an added bonus; all of our users are getting popups from Kaspersky Anti-Hacker indicating a wide variety of files have changed, including svchost.exe, lsass.exe, outlook.exe, iexplore.exe, and others.

Same problems with our clients ; problems after install update with path "h".

Other users are also suffering the same issue as you as seen in this thread : http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=110941

I just got off the phone with Kaspersky; they are releasing a patch tomorrow to fix both problems (the anti-hacker popups and the failed anti-spam). Until then, it is safe to click "Allow" on the system files it is finding changed. Geez, I coulda really used some warning on this one, especially with the Confliker warnings and all!!

Yep -- just what I needed today -- everything was working fine up until this evening -- and shifted from user mode to administrator mode -- rebooted and BOOM! Anti-spam failed to start. Cannot figure out why this just happened now since "h" installed yesterday or the day before. Well -- we will see what they do overnight, meanwhile just turned off anti-spam (only use with outlook). Do not get much anyway with outlook junk mail filters catching the bulk of what little occurs!

Glad I'm not the only one having this problem, been looking into this for ages this evening trying to find out what I'd messed up on my laptop this time rolleyes.gif

Thanks for the update on what's happening guess we just have to wait for the patch now.

LOL yeah that was the acting strange part. I'm sure glad it is a kaspersky problem, I didn't feel like working tonight chasing a phantom virus. Workstations were poping up red in the admin console pretty quick at quitin time.

My home system (KIS 2009) is down also.
