I have a Windows 2003 server with Administration Kit 6 installed. Other 76 computers with Kaspersky 6 are taking their updates from this server.

On Windows 2003 i cannot access some known antivirus sites and kaspersky is one of them so i can't get any updates.

I scanned the server with Bitdefender free, both rescue disk and the installed version, spybot, malwarebytes and nothing.
I cannot scan with kaspersky becouse i've got only Kaspersky Work Space Security licence for 100 comp and so only workstation antivirus.
I checked my hosts file and it was clean.

I actually added o few lines to try and access kaspersky and hopefully find something helpful.
I added:
195.27.181.34 kaspersky.com www.kaspersky.com support.kaspersky.com forum.kaspersky.com
193.231.255.70 upgrade.bitdefender.com
89.45.172.238 kaspersky.ro www.kaspersky.ro
Now i can access the kaspersky website but still Administration Kit won't update.

I need another solution or a list with kaspersky update servers so i can add them manually in hosts file.

Thank you in advance.

Helmut
You can find a list off all update servers in c:\program files\kaspersky lab\share\updates\bases\upd\updcfg.xml.

What is the error massage if the update tasks failed?

Error when i click on Download Updates: Administration Server could not retrieve updates.

If i check the Functional Failures log:
Update task complete. Update source not found. This error usually occurs when a connection is bad or unstable, or if network connection settings are incorrect. Recommendations: To troubleshoot this problem, make sure the network connection settings, update source availability, and the update source list are all correct. Then run Updater again. If the error occurs again, send the Updater trace to Technical Support to clarify the problem.

I will try to add some kaspersky servers in my hosts file and let you know if that worked.

Check if you can successfully establish a connection to the update servers:

tracert dnl-00.geo.kaspersky.com

*dnl-00* - *dnl-19*

tracert dnl-00.geo.kaspersky.com

On windows 2003 server
tracert dnl-00.geo.kaspersky.com
Error: unable to resolve target system name dnl-00.geo.kaspersky.com

I checked on the linux router of the same network server 2003 is in and
traceroute dnl-00.geo.kaspersky.com
traceroute to dnl-00.geo.kaspersky.com (193.138.220.147), 30 hops max, 38 byte packets
.....
8 10ge-v3.core-2.ipv4-mg8.db-ams.euroaccess.nl (85.12.0.34) 48.013 ms 47.200 ms 45.694 ms
9 193.138.220.147 (193.138.220.147) 52.309 ms 49.280 ms 59.227 ms
Everything worked

If i check on Server 2003 again
tracert 193.138.220.147
Everything is working.

So definetly i have a DNS problem with resolving everything that has in its url a known antivirus.

PS: in updcfg.xml you have a weight field. What does it do please ?
