hello,
I'm in trouble right now.A couple of months already my KAK runs smoothly and it manages 300 workstations, but two days past the my KAK Server down (unable to load OS (windows 2003 server)).I format my disk and build a new KAK on that same server. My question is how do I manage those machines with my new KAK Server?Another issue, most of the end users complaining that their machine getting slow in terms of machine performance unlike before they machines runs good.

Any suggestions?
Please help me.................. dash1.gif dash1.gif dash1.gif

How about your backup (something like klbackup2009-xx-xx#00-00, did you create task scheduling for backup ?? , if nothing u must reconnect all agent in user PC or you can re-deploy via admin-kit, make a good policy & good timinng task.

You do not need to reinstall KAV Workstation.

For reconnecting the existing clients to the new administration kit you have (in your situation) two choices:

1. Using the klmover-tool: http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=193239031 (eg. using a login script)
2. rollout of the network agent of the new administration kit. Just check the settings of the remote installation package and install it remotely. Deactivate the checkbox "do not install if already installed"

Hi,
I had a clear undesrtanding on your Step Number 2,however once I do that I cant synchronize knor control the client.
after restarting the machine it show s slower performance.I hardly even open the Control Panel or Open the Properties of my LAN connection.
In order to back to its normal state I need to perform the System Restore.

For Step Number 1,where should I put that command on the workstation side?Under Run|cmd?
Assuming my KAK Server running on this IP 192.168.1.1/24 and my workstation running on these IP 192.168.1.254/24
this would be my command "klmover -192.168.1.1 -logfile klmover.log"

Any reply highly appreciated.

thanks

For step number 1:

you may enter the command manually via commandline (as you already wrote: Run -> cmd) or via loginscript or grouppolicies if you're using active directory. There you could use a batchfile (.bat) and enter the command there.

Just use "klmover -address 192.168.1.1 -logfile klmover.log" when entering manually or "klmover -address 192.168.1.1 -logfile klmover.log -silent" when using scripting.

You mean to say this could be done under workstation side right?
How do I know if the procedure that I made is succesful or not?

Im on the client side now doing some trouble shooting.

thanks

You may check main part of the configuration and the connection through klnagchk-tool. You can find this tool (klnagchk.exe) under the path, where the network agent is installed (eg. c:\program files\kasperskylab\network agent\)
