# = comment
+ = new feature
* = improved feature
! = fixed bug
- = removed feature
4.0.0.233 (Stable) - Released 3 Mars 2009
--------------------------------
+: Gets Video Card information
+: Gets Sound Card information (just a few)
+: Gets Printers information
+: Gets Event logs for the last 7 days
!: Now, when a user whith no admin rights clicks on "Settings", a popup explains him that he must have admin privilege to modify settings (instead of the .OCX error message)
Hi Kamille,
the 233 needs with normal settings 5 mins to create the report. I have a lot of ntlogevent and Firefox freezed on the upload for few moments (when i will watch it, got a freeze again). Is 7 days for the logs not to much?
Suggestion:
Would it be possible to make the whole button clickable and not only the Start/Stop symbols (like it is in KAV/KIS)?

Please delete the GetSystemInfo in your temp folder then download the tool again and try again.
I updated this version and now it will collect only critical and warning events (not information events) for the last 3 days

This should be better

btw, Kamille, i know it's not specified as being fixed in the changelog, but it still crashes at the ports part on my machine.

True ... I didn't fix this yet
Actually it's because it's not a "popular" bug and this will take a lot of time to update this this because I want to fully update this functionality and not just patched it ...
But I will !
Is this port crash like the one bellow? If not, then I keep getting the errors attached 5-6 times (everytime I click OK, I get another with more information as shown in the progression bellow). Last screenshot is the final one I get.
GSI continues running after and successfully finished and uploads. Dont look like there's an error in the GSI parser.

Well, delete the folder GetSystemInfo in your temp folder an then download and start the utility again.
This should be fixed.

Yep yep, fixed
GetSystemInfo 4.0.0.233 always creates corrupted zip files on my system. I don't know why...

it creates empty zip files on that system apparently..maybe it crashes for the same reason my does.
Apparently it doesn't crash, it display the report has been successfully created, but it can be a cosmetic glitch and in fact it may crash internally.
Hi Lusitano,
Looks in the folder "C: \ Documents and Settings \ USer \ Local Settings \ Temp \"
The interior should be the report files format. Txt created temporarily before being placed in the zip file.
Hello,
Thierry is right, the report should be in your temp folder.
Then, if you want to, upload it and give us/me the url in order to find what can be the origin of this specific issue.
Thanks in advance !
Here you have the log for analysis

Hello from linus.e.gio,
I do not understand why you put the file to your post, and not instead send the ZIP file that you create GSI on the desktop and attach
http://gsi.kaspersky.fr/ only link to the page you create.

Hello,
Well, I don't see something shocking in it.
I'm going to ask you a question : Is it a original Windows XP ?
If yes, did you stop by yourself some services ?
Note : I'm not here to judge but to understand

Yes, it is a licensed Windows version. Yes, I did stop services like Windows Security Center and Windows Firewall. I believe those are the only services I've disabled.

Hum ... so it's a mystery for now ...
I believe this happens also with the "Minimal" settings of the GetSystemInfo tool, right ?
Yes, with minimal settings the zip gets empty too.
Maybe it is worth trying to see whether the report can be created successfully after disabling the option to scan ports. The ErrorLog section at the end of the report seems to indicate a problem in this context.

No, disabling the port scanning didn't solve the problem.
