After installed, updated KAV for Worksatations 6.0.3.837,
The service "Computer Browser" often stops even its Startup Type is Automatic

which disconnects the network connection with other computers.

How can I solve this ?

are you tried to Scan your computer on Safe mode ? ( by updated Kaspersky Product ) ?


plus Could you please send us system information for that PC by using Sysinfo tool

It's being little SERIOUS problem, now.

Advanced Members are requested to Solve out.

OS : Win2003 Server Standard Edition
Installed : Administration Kit
KAV for File Server
SysInfo : Click to view attachment

2 Days before, Removed kido.ih virus using Kidokiller latest tool
Also Full Scanned the System in Safe Mode too.

Still, problem remains the same.

Major effect :
Used Ping command, replies fine.
Try to Browse the computer name or IP, fails to reply i.e. no Network operations
In Services list, Computer Browser service status : Stopped

check your windows server 2003 update security pack because Microsoft lunch new security.

Finally your idea solved my problem.

1. Database updated with latest signatures
2. Setting "System Restore" option OFF,
3. Full Scanned the computer in Safe Mode - twice regularly.
4. Rebooted the computer in Normal Mode, set "System Restore" ON.

It worked both on Win2003 Server* with KAV for File Server and WinXP SP2 with KAV for Win Workstations


* In Win2003 Server, no need to set "System Restore" option OFF or ON
