Full Version: Freezing applications

Hi,

A customer of ours has the Kaspersky Total Security Suite, and as part of this, on the workstations, they are running Kaspersky Anti Virus 6.0.3.8xx

Just recently, they have been telling us that sometimes applications seem to "freeze" on them anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds... then they just resume as normal.

We have not changed anything, and it is not limited to particular application.

Could this be something that Kaspersky is doing while it is scanning an application?

The freeze occurs sometimes when the application is actually doing some processing (eg: finding a stock code, print preview of something). It is noticeably slower, especially for the point of sale people when they are looking for a stock item.

Again, this does not always happen, it happens a lot though... is there any particular settings that I should be changing in relation to scanning applications?

As a side note, when I disable Kaspersky protection on a workstation, I am able to start a certain application within 3 seconds, however, if I turn on Kaspersky protection, the same application starts in about 15 seconds!

Hi,

If you trust these applications, then you should put them in the Trusted Zone > Trusted Applications list of Kaspersky Anti-Virus, see: http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=201531913
