After I deploy the Kaspersky 6.0 workstation to my clients PC, they always complaint that telnet to our main system disconnect. We use this applications e.g telnet, accu term and hyper terminal.

If I uninstall the Kaspersky from the clinets PC, then it's working fine without disconnecting.

Do any one no the solution for this?

I have exactly the same issue, with an application named "netterm", used as a telnet client.

With KAV set up on the computer, sometimes netterm will connect, sometimes it will not. Disabling KAV doesn't change anything. Uninstalling changes everything : it works again blink.gif ...

The weirdest is : the vista native telnet client keeps on working fine in any case.. dash1.gif

Are you using the Kaspersky Firewall? If so, you need to set up an exception for either you subnet, or the application.

Although, if you Pause Protection, it should not disconnect, because that stops all of the modules. Have you called support?

I've tried everything... disabling the firewall... enabling it and making rules, opening all udp and tcp ports (using the rules templates).

Disabling every KAV services does not solve anything. Only uninstalling does...

Actually the server DOES respond, except for the "login" line that never comes....

When I insist, maybe with 2 out of 100 trials I finally get it :

Using the native vista client, it ALWAYS works :

Any help appreciated...

Thank you !

It might be the NDIS Filter. I would give Kaspersky a call, or atleast get on there online chat. It's free, so it's not going to hurt, and they could have you up and running much faster then myself.

Do the apps work on a WinXP computer that has Kaspersky? Because I believe that the NDIS Filter is not needed (But it is installed) with Vista.

You're right, I've just tried with 2 XP workstations, and the problem does not occur.... Living in France I have to wait till 3pm before the chat service starts, I've never tried the online chat but from what I've read I might have to face a "queue" system... is there any other (and faster for french customers (and cheap sleep.gif )) way to have support about that ??

Well you can try to disable the NDIS filter, but I would just get in queue for an actual fix. The NDIS filter is basically Kaspersky packet filter, so if you turn it off some things will not work.

To disable you have to Go to Network Connection > Right Click on Local Area Network or Wireless Network Connection > Choose Properties

Then New Windows will lunch,
In General Tab, find "Kaspersky Anti-Virus NDIS filter" and Uncheck its.

Hello,

There is a french Kaspersky Lab. office, you can ask them for support or even contact your reseller.

It is not advised to disable NDIS filter in the properties of each network connections, it is better to reinstall KAV without NDIS filter like describe on the link above.

Thank you Tybilly, the link to the french chat support is available from the link you wrote down, but finding it from the web site root looks very hard ! I'll use it wisely smile.gif
