In Trend and Mcafee, you can search pcs via IP and push a client on the pcs. Ive read the admin kit manual and it tell me that I need to install the client manually on the pc, then do a klmover.exe utility on the client to make a connection to the server.

This can't be right, Im sure there must a way. Can anyone help?

Thanks.

Okay, i think ive found the option here, but still it wont allow me to choose any of the pcs in my subnet.

My subnet is 10.152.0.0/25

the admin it is installed on the dmz...had no other room for it, either way, there are about 3 subnets inbetween which are all fully routed, ie, i can ping my subnet from the dmz. The admin kit can not see my network through snmp or whatever protocol it uses to scan the network, it seems it only picks up devices in "connected" subnets.

Anyways, I created a group called 'Head Office'. I go to 'add computer' and manually enter an IP (which is pingable from the server the admin is installed on), and I get the following error...

"failed to move the following host into the administration group.
possible reason,
-the computers are not included into administration server database"

I dont understand, cant it search for it and add the computer if it can talk to it? Why does it need to be in the database in the first place?

Thanks all.

You can enter required IPs in the remote installation task and push agent on the required computers.
