My neighbour tried Kaspersky Online Virus Scanner with the following result:
Scanned file: ratgeber-fit.de[rgf-10117,1,clairin].exe

ratgeber-fit.de[rgf-10117,1,clairin].exe - infected by not-a-virus:Porn-Dialer.Win32.Intexdial

She downloaded Kav Antivirus Personal, updated the virus database, did a full scan and Antivirus found nothing. ohmy.gif

Same result for several files. Any idea what happened? Does she have a Virus or not?

Thanx
Kyra

It could be because your friend didn't have the extendedbases selected in the "configure updater" settings:

It's a dialer which on a dialup connection will reroute calls to very expensive and exotic locations like in the middle of the pacific. So try the extendedbases and use max protection in on-demand settings. If she still doesn't get the same virus warning, then submit the file to: newvirus@kaspersky.com . smile.gif

Additionally to Don Pelota's suggestions you could scan the file on the site http://virusscan.jotti.org/. Use "File to upload and scan" on top of the page and browse for the suspicious file on your computer.

Thanx for your help. I am not sure about the extended databases and I am going to try this tonight.
