Hello,

I've got BSODs under Vista x64 _ SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
The module is "kl1.sys"

In Vista x64, KIS requested me to restart Windows an hour ago.
After rebooting, every time I launch Windows, I've got BSODs. huh.gif
In safe Mode, Windows says This BSODs are caused by Anti-Virus.

Then, I'll ask for the support of KL HelpDesk.
I hope it'll be fixed as soon as possible./

In Windows XP,. KIS seems running fine.

The problem with BSOD when running KIS 8.0.0.454 a [b] under Vista 64 bit seems to be a serious one.
In the german user forum already 5 users have reported the same problem. It seems to appear after the latest update of the IDS data base.

Possible workaround: Start computer in safe mode with network drivers. Then launch KIS and provoke manually the rollback of the data bases. I'm not sure whether the network drivers are necessary for this procedure.

Edit: Of course the updater has to be set to "Manual" after the rollback.

Also having the same problem here as of this morning about 1 hour ago. Kaspersky recommended that "A restart is required after Update" so I restarted.

Booted up and as soon as Kaspersky loaded with the startup config, system crashed and the BSOD related the crash to KL1.sys.

I'm running a legitimate copy of Vista Ultimate 64-bit, Kaspersky Internet Security 2009, no other firewalls or AV/AS running or have ever been installed.
Intel Q9550, 4GB ram, 8800 Ultra graphics.

Temporarily, you can start your systems into Safe Mode and remove Kaspersky from your startup configuration (note that while this will let you boot and use your computer, you will be unprotected from malware and other threats).

Press Windows + R (or Start > Run) and type "msconfig"
Then choose the startup tab and uncheck Kaspersky related entries.
Apply and restart in normal mode.

Also had to remove C:\Windows\System32\drivers\kl1.sys
Also had to remove C:\(your kaspersky directory here)\KLIFX64\kl1.sys
(make sure you show hidden files and system files to find these)

To all:

In safe mode of the OS, KIS has to be launched from Start > Programs > context menu of Kaspersky Internet Security > run as administrator

Same problem with system service exception. Can only start in safe mode. Would system restore be able to resolve this or should I roll back Kaspersky updates? I am running trial version of Kaspersky and was going to purchase soon. Has this issue of BSOD with Vista 64 come up before with Kaspersky? Thanks.

Yes, launch KIS from Safe mode, rollback last update, and select NOT to update program modules. Now you can restart Windows and probably wait for fixed update from KL Labs

The same here. Vista Ultimate 64, Q6600, Asus P5E, 4GB memory. BSOD after update. Rolling back last update in safe mode fixed the problem temporarily. Waiting for fixed update. XP on the same machine (dual boot) seems to be OK so far.
