Hi

New to Kaspersky products so be gentle please!!!

I am installing KAV products onto an SBS2003 server. This was protected by Trend SMB.

Before installing, all of the Trend applications were removed and the server restarted

Then I tried to install KAV server - this failed saying Trend was still installed! Have checked all of Trend support and gone through all of the uninstalling checks.

Tried to install it again - same error.

To make sure I had email protection I have installed Exchange application and this is working.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Thanks Julian

You need to delete Trendmicro folders & registry manually before install KAVFS

Hi

Yes I have done all of that and there is nothing left...

Been through about 6 procedures and still it falls over.

I have installed the Security system, so exchange is protected from viruses and spam, but it is the server that I need to get protected now.

Any other idea's?

try to delete all files in your system drive:\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information folder (folder is hidden), and run the installation again. b_punk.gif

You can try running the setup exe through cmd and at the end of the command add /pSKIPPRODUCTCHECK=1
This will disable product check.
ex. in my pc
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab Setup Files\Kaspersky Internet Security 2010 9.0.0.459\English\setup.exe/pSKIPPRODUCTCHECK=1

It worked for kis 2010 but it can work for every kaspersky setup file.
