I just submitted this post to support. Has anyone noticed the same?
________________

Since aproximately the beginning of the 20th may (or very late 19th), Berlin time, the Web Antivirus module (and the Privacy Control module***) is somehow making Free Download Manager not being able to download files from rapidshare.com. Other sources work, but sometimes very slow.

I thought I had misconfigured my network since I was making changes to it, but after a couple of hours I noticed that the problem dissappeared when disabling KIS, I ultimately tracked it down to the Web Anti-Virus module, which would only allow me to download from rapidshare.com when "Scan HTTP traffic" is disabled. If I use the "Rapidshare (Download) Manager", this problem does not appear.

Adding "*.rapidshare.com/*" to the list trusted URLs in the "General" tab of the Customize Web Anti-Virus settings does not fix the problem. "Scan HTTP traffic" needs to be disabled.

I had not upgraded lately FDM, so I believe the the problem is not introduced through a new FDM update, but rather through something in KIS.

KIS told me about half an hour ago that I had to reboot since it had been updated and required a reboot, I believe that this is not related to the issue, because at night, where a KIS update was still not offered (or at least not downloaded), I already rebooted several times, so any update from part of Kaspersky would have been applied at night so that it would have not happened just one hour ago.

*** Additionally, while writing this, I just noticed that in "Privacy Control" the "Anti-Phishing" option also must be disabled. So it"s those two conditions which must be met in order to be able to download from rapishare.com with Free Download Manager: Disable "Scan HTTP traffic" AND disable "Anti-Phishing". This is really weird.

I hope the description has been accurate enough.

Regards,

hello
try to add fdm to trusted applications in settings>Threats and exclusions>trusted zone with the do not scan network traffic option enabled.

No, this does not work. Even if exclusions are set to any. And keep in mind it happens only with rapidshare, which is very strange. It used to work, and from one moment to the other, without fdm being changed at all, it stops working.

Even worse, Kaspersky advertises with a 48 hour response time. I gave a very precise submission, which took quite an amount of time to elaborate, and I haven't heard anything from then. Keep in mind that it was submitted on the 20th of May. You can imagine that I'm feeling pretty annoyed.

Thanks for your tip.

I too have the same problem.. only noticed in the last week or so... any links added to FDM just sit there, if I disable KIS and restart them, they start downloading, if I then re-enable KIS, after a hsor period, they grind to a halt again..

Funny I use Rapidshare a lot and have never had any of these problems smile.gif

As download manager for Rapidshare I use a small program called Rapget, it works very well with RS.

@df1975
your message is from 20.05.2008 and still no answer.

I have the same problem with flashget and rapidshare. Since version 7 i have only problems with kaspersky and i guess that it is time to find another more reliable antivirus solution.

KIS 8.0.0.454

I have the same problem but while upload file only. rapidshare, badongo, picturebuket, hi5.
Firefox and IE always freeze and still transfer in background. I have to switch off ADSL modem.

I tried disable one bye one module but finally disable main kaspersky will solve the problem.
Add trust webs didn't solve. It cause from main module.

I think I will write to Computer PC Magazine.
