Creating an AVZ Sysinfo log using KAV/KIS 2009 or 2010

The AVZ Sysinfo tool collects information about your system (such as running processes, loaded modules and files that run on startup) and converts this information into a logfile. This logfile can then be analysed by our malware experts and moderators, which in turn help us diagnose and remove an infection.

If you are having a problem with an infection that is not detected/can not be deleted by Kaspersky, or an AVZ log has been requested by a moderator, please follow the instructions below on creating it.
----
To create an AVZ logfile, please launch Kaspersky and click on "Support" in the bottom left hand corner of the main screen. Then click on "Support Tools". A new window will open, and underneath the "Actions" heading you will find a button labelled "Create system state report". Click this button to create the AVZ sysinfo log.

Once your system has been analysed, click on "View" in order to open the logfile location.
The logfile should be located in C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Kaspersky Lab\AVP8\AVZ folder and will be called sysinfo.zip (for Windows Vista this will be C:\ProgramData\Kaspersky Lab\AVP8\AVZ). Please collect this file, and attach it to your post/topic.

The animation below demonstrates how to create an AVZ sysinfo logfile:

Executing an AVZ script in KAV/KIS 2009 or 2010

Execution of AVZ scripts should only be done under the guidance of forum moderators or helpers.
Do not attempt to write/execute a script yourself or execute a script written for another person.
If you need help open a new topic and wait for a reply from a moderator

----
An AVZ script can be specially written to quarantine and remove an infection. Once your sysinfo log has been analysed by the forum moderators or helpers, they may ask you to execute an AVZ script. The script will be a set of commands to be completed when you execute the script. This may involve your computer rebooting, and the person who has created the script for you should make you aware of this fact before you execute the script.

Once you have your script, select it, and copy it by using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+C or the corresponding option via right click.
Next, launch Kaspersky and click on "Support" in the bottom left hand corner of the window, and then click on "Support Tools".
In the new window that opens, you should be able to see a button labelled "Execute AVZ script" under the "Actions" heading. Click the button "Execute AVZ script" to open the script input/execution window.

At this point, please make sure to save any work and close all open programs apart from Kaspersky.

Now, paste in your script into the execution window by using CTRL+V keyboard shortcut, or the "paste" option via the right click menu.

Finally, click on "Execute" to run the script. Do not use your computer while the script is being executed, and wait until the script has been completed or the computer has rebooted to carry on working.

The animation below details how to execute a script:

Creating an AVZ Sysinfo log using the standalone AVZ utility.

---

To create the logfile, please firstly download AVZ by clicking HERE. Please save this file to your desktop or "My Documents" folder.

Next, unpack the file to a new folder using the Compressed (zipped) folders wizard built into Windows XP/Vista, or a zip utility of your choice.

Once you have unpacked the contents of the zip archive, please launch the file AVZ.exe by double clicking on it or right clicking and selecting Open
If you are running Windows vista launch AVZ.exe by right clicking and selecting Run as Administrator

You should now see the main window of the AVZ utility. Please navigate to File->Custom Scripts. Copy the script below by using the keyboard shortcut CTRL+C or the corresponding option via right click.
CODE
begin
ExecuteStdScr(3);
RebootWindows(true);
end.

Paste the script into the execution window by using CTRL+V keyboard shortcut, or the "paste" option via the right click menu. Click on Run to run the script, the PC will reboot. After the reboot the LOG subfolder is created in the folder with AVZ, with a file called virusinfo_syscure.zip inside. Attach that file to your post
