Follow these instructions: http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showt...st&p=503423
Then reboot, and you should have your explorer.exe and taskbar back. -------------------- Kind Regards,

If you have no icons/taskbar/menus/etc, you can try to restore explorer as follows: Open task manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC) click on file- New task (run) [attachment=42629:K_1.JPG] In the box that pops up, type in the path to your kaspersky installation and avp.exe, [attachment=42630:K_2.JPG] so for example, mine is located at C:\Program Files\Kaspersky Lab\Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0\avp.exe Replace the \Kaspersky Anti-Virus 7.0\ with whatever version you are runnning, so for example, it could be \Kaspersky Anti-Virus 6.0\ \Kaspersky Internet Security 6.0\ \Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0\ Click OK (you will have to repeat this process once more if you have disabled Kaspersky from starting up with Windows, to bring up the Kaspersky interface) Kaspersky main window should pop open Now, restore from the Kaspersky "backup" which can be accessed via "reports and data files" tab - backup [attachment=42631:K_3.JPG] ![]() Explanation of the backup tab: Version 6- http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=198984858 Version 7- http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208279413 Hi, During the above procedure I try to run avp.exe, which has already been running anyway since my computer booted and I don't get the Kaspersky interface!! I am stuck!! |

Thanks, I had this same warning. Nice to here it was a false positive. If there is a way maybe try to get this post googlized, because I was looking for this forever until I thought maybe i should check my virus vendors forums.

The another way to restore deleted explorer.exe in Windows XP is to restore it from the installation CD Windows XP. Boot from inst. CD and press R 'Repair'. In command line enter 'expand (CD DRIVE*):\i386\explorer.ex_ c:\windows' This expands the original compressed file explorer.ex_ to system folder . Then enter 'exit' and press Enter. PC reboots and starts the system.
* CD DRIVE is letter of the drive with the installation of Windows XP. *** If you don't know what letter is your CD drive, enter in command line 'dir D:' then 'dir E:'.... etc. If you get list of files and folders from installation CD W XP, it is the right drive... That can work too, but it will restore the original, unpatched explorer.exe that is not up to date. I am not sure what effect that would have on a system.

Hi All, Newbie to Kaspersky My PC has been throwing wobblies (IE keeps trying to connect or work offline) Had AVG, SpyBot and ZoneAlarm installed. Have uninstalled all the above to try to use Kaspersky to try and find the culprit as files kept getting moved to Virus Vault (infected with Lop virus???) Couldn't see how to remove but spoke to a colleague who said to try Kaspersky. Well on installation & download of updates tonight I am getting the; Virus Worm.Win32.Huhk.c Luckily checked this forum so haven't deleted the explorer.exe (however still waiting for it to find Lop Virus) Anyone seen Lop virus and know the cure? |

Hi guys, please try to update now, the fix should have been pushed out through the updater.
Clear your "detected" tab entries, and it shouldn't bug you about those files again. -------------------- Kind Regards,

The problem should be fixed if you update Kaspersky now.
