Hi,

I have recently been given KIS 2013 from my bank as a freebie. my instructions were simple, download the 30 day trial, and register with Kapersky and ill be emailed an activation code, which, i was. however when i enter the activation code it then asks me to enter a password which i never setup as part of the installation so am unable to continue with activation. any ideas ?

Hello,

May I suggest clean installing version 2014, the code from Barclays is good for version 2014 , download it from here.
http://www.kaspersky.co.uk/downloads/internet-security

Completly remove version 2013 first and reboot before installing the new version, clean install instructions can be found in the third important topic.

Try removing it using Kavremover, it should do the trick.
http://support.kaspersky.com/common/service.aspx?el=1464
Run it once choosing the product you have installed, reboot and run it again choosing all known products, reboot & try installing version 2014.

If still no go after that, your best bet is to contact tech support

Please don't use 'all known products'. The removal tool might destroy MS .NET and also Visual C++ if the option "Delete all known programs" is selected. As a consequence, MS Office and other applications are no longer operable

Sorry I didn't know that, I have always done it that way when doing a clean install, I thought it just removed all known Kaspersky products.

Please download and install the latest Kaspersky 2014:

1) Download the latest 2014 version of Kaspersky – http://www.kaspersky.com/internet-security-latest-versions
2) Uninstall the older version with kavremover utility in windows safe mode like so - http://support.kaspersky.com/1464
3) Install the 2014 version and activate it with your 20-symbol activation code.

Use this way for removing.
