Kaspersky Lab informs you that upon installing Microsoft KB2823324 update (dated 08.04.2013) on the following operating systems:

Microsoft Windows Vista x32/x64,
Microsoft Windows 7 x32/x64,
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 x32/x64,
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2

the following situations may happen:

1. Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations / Server version 6.0.4.1424 and 6.0.4.1611 displays the message: "Your license is not valid. Protection disabled." As a result, some or all protection components stop functioning.

2. the chkdsk utility is launched on a computer with Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations / Server version 6.0.4.1424, 6.0.4.1611 or Kaspersky Endpoint Security 8 for Windows version 8.1.0.831 each time the operating system is started.

Kaspersky Lab experts are now investigating this issue. The company uses its best efforts to solve the issue as soon as possible.
As a temporary solution, we recommend not to install KB2823324 update or uninstall it before restarting the computer.

If the update is already installed and reboot is performed make these steps

1 delete the update on computer locally / through WSUS /policies.
2 reboot the computer
3 if the chkdsk utility is launched let it complete the disk scanning

After the reboot the license has to be added automatically and the chkdsk utility is no longer due to be launched while next rebooting.

I can confirm the problem occurs with KES 8.1.0.646 as well. Tested on Win7 64 and 2008R2. Both rebooted fine after the update. (But recorded an EVENT 55 in the System Event Log). Subsequent reboots involve CHKDSKS.
At no point was the Kaspersky License file affected, as I checked after each reboot.

I am disabling KB2823324 in WSUS as a precaution.

As license issue affects only Kaspersky Anti-Virus for Windows Workstations / Server version 6.0.4.1424 or 6.0.4.1611

Exactly what I did this morning, also noted the NTFS error 55's in our event logs whilst the Hotfix was installed, once removed all clear. Blocked in WSUS and removed the odd install that i found along the way and all good now.

Come on Kaspersky, seems to be epic fail one after another at the moment. First the Patch A,B,C,PF80 Blah blah disaster and now this :/

Have you got any links for the technet discussions? Are other AV vendors effected then? Currently i can only find Kaspersky?

The screen above is exactly the same as mine.

The issue is still being investigated.
We can confirm that the Microsoft has removed the checkbox from the update KB2823324 so that it does not install automatically.
The update still appears in Windows Updates, and it is still an “Important” update, but you’ll notice if it’s checked previously and then you check for updates again, the check mark goes away.

Hi,

Review KB9844.:

502 - Web server received an invalid response while acting as a gateway or proxy server.

There is a problem with the page you are looking for, and it cannot be displayed. When the Web server (while acting as a gateway or proxy) contacted the upstream content server, it received an invalid response from the content server.

SOLVED: Now is working.

Regards
