 mvps Hosts file detected as Trojan.Win32.Host2.gen, Is this a false positive |

I alway use this host file from this website....http://msmvps.com/blogs/hostsnews/default.aspx.
So far KIS/Pure2 have not detect it as trojan. Today, Pure 3 detected it as Trojan.Win32.Host2.gen. Anyone have this problem. |

For an additional data point, I am also experiencing the same problem with the MVP hosts file and KIS2013.

In fact, the website to download the Host file are now block by Pure 3. I wonder I can I bypass the block.

i have the same issue... any solution so far ?
i couldn't upload the getsysteminfo file here which is larger than 300kb... and it is not uploading itself... This post has been edited by Umut: 15.03.2013 11:45

I'm having this problem as well, and have added the mvps HOST file to the exclusion list, as well as the downloaded files it was installed from. I had to DISABLE KIS, because it disinfected all of the files without ASKING first, and adding the files to the exclusion list by right clicking on them in the detection list was NOT an option! What the heck??? I had to manually add all files to the exclusion list....PITA, and bad, bad behavior for KIS! |

127.0.0.1 2008-panda.com worked for me scanned it and no more warnings |

another way around till Kaspersky solves the problem :
Settings --> Threats & Exclusions --> Exclusions --> Settings --> Add --> Select file or Folder --> C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\ |
