It is not a module or base update.
A separate installation task should be created.

kaspersky should find a better solution for this ,am not happy i have no time to waste on reinstalling and troubleshooting , i have fears from some users my network after reboot the windows will not start up again have more than 1000 computers and you know uninstalling and reinstalling problems and most users cant do a reboot ,so it's better for kaspersky to put more effort on taking my concerns thanks.

I agree with you. I have about 1500 computers and deploying this new update is a nightmar. I just tried to do an onsite upgrade from KES 8.1.646(a,cool.gif and a deinstallation of the previous version was necessary before I could install the new version.

Kaspersky needs to developpe smooth installation requirring as less reboot as possible.

I download the new package in my Security Center and I am unable to install the new administration plug-in cause another version of this product is already installed. I could not find anywhere to uninstall this other version.

Yes, both versions have the same msi-string.

I will send you a little tool for uninstallation later.

1.On a computer with the Administration Console installed delete the previous version of kes8win plugin:
msiexec.exe /x{32C6E4C0-F955-478F-BB11-1DFCFC5C5AEC} /qb
2. Download kes8.1.0.831_wksfswin_en.exe on this page http://support.kaspersky.com/kes8wks?level=2.
3. Extract it.
4. Run klcfginst.exe on the computer with Administration Console installed.
5. View the versions of plugins you have installed in a Console by opening the Administration server properties, and going to Advanced > Information about installed application management plug-ins in the left frame. Make sure the version is 8.1.0.832 now. It doesn't match exactly the main build version. It is OK.

New plugin version will be added in this article ASAP http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208285524

Along with anti-virus you have to update the plugin version too. But uninstall string is the same.

I got plugin version 831 installed by installing whole CF1 package on server with KSC9 on it.
Is it wrong and should I install it like you suggested in quoted post so I get version 832?
What is the difference between 831 and 832, some bugs solved?

it is OK

Clarify my answer -
the version of the plugin is 8.1.0.831 but the versin of the file klcfginst.exe is 8.1.0.832.
Sometimes the version of plugin is defferent to the main build (like KES8 for smartphone) but not in this case.

Is anybody else having issues with KS9 recognizing KES 8 CF1 is installed on client computers? CF1 installed without errors, but SC9 never received confirmation that the application is running, even though it is. I have updated the plugin per the above post. A klnagchk from the client computer completes successfully, and I can see the network agent is running, but no KES 8. This has happened on 3 of the 4 computers I have tested the upgrade on so far. I also tried installing on a brand new computer with a standalone installation package and I'm having the same problem, so it doesn't appear to just be an issue with the upgrade process.

Interesting. Could it be a network agent issue? What version of the NA are you running? We're at 9.2.69

So, what's the best way to push this update to my 100 clients?

Create a new task (Install application remotely), KES8? Just like originally?

restart NA in KAK.
option 1. Point to the PC from the list of computers, select custom tools --> remote diagnostics,
select enter after screen pop up, then restart NA will do.

NA start after KAV will cause this problem.

1) Create a uninstallation task for old client
2) Wait for completion
3) Create a installtion task for new client
4) Profit !
