New Firefox version is out. Let me be the first to ask; when will we see the update that allows us to use the virtual keyboard again?
Thanks, -V- p.s. - I love this feature and it is one of the reasons that I stick with Kaspersky products and could never understand why it gets broken with regular Firefox updates.. /Edit: Please see: http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=235191 This post has been edited by richbuff: 5.05.2012 12:21 |

I was wondering if KAV 2012 will ever be compatible with Firefox 12. And is there a way to find out without subjecting my computer to threats?
I noticed when I went to Firefox 12, which just upgraded automatically yesterday, that my Kaspersky add-ons and virtual keyboard are not compatible, and are grayed out. This caused a big problem with some viruses, which fortunately were removed. (But would have never gotten on my computer in the first place if there wasn't a conflict. Now I have changed to Google Chrome, which seems to co-exist happily with Kaspersky. I like using Firefox, but do not want to check to see if Kaspersky and it have been made compatible because of the virus/trojan concerns. Any help will be appreciated. |

-Perform a database update and reboot your computer. Afterwards, right click KAV tray icon and select about. You should see "I" next to version number. This patch solves add-on compatibility.
-Add-ons have zero impact on your protection. You will be perfectly protected from malware trying to get in your PC without said addons. |

Merged to the closed topic, to facilitate flood control.
QUOTE I haven`t seen "I patch"!!! why? Because the patch was not pushed out to all users yet? Or because the patch was released, but then quickly withdrawn due to a temporary glitch? QUOTE What will happen? Nothing bad will happen, if your Kaspersky is updated and your system is rebooted. Please see this quote: -Perform a database update and reboot your computer. Afterwards, right click KAV tray icon and select about. You should see "I" next to version number. This patch solves add-on compatibility. Emphasis added. -Add-ons have zero impact on your protection. You will be perfectly protected from malware trying to get in your PC without said addons. FAQ: When will the patch be released? A. When it is ready. What do I do? Please wait patiently for the patch. A. Alternatively, you may use Fx 11. Thank you for you patience. How do I install the patch? A. Update databases > reboot. How do I know that the patch has been released? A. When (i) appears in About (click upper left of main Kaspersky window), or Support > Application Version, or right click the red K tray icon > About. I updated databases > rebooted, but no "I" (or "H", etc.). A. Then all is well at the moment. Keep your Kaspersky databases updated, and all shall be well. ------------------- Flood control is On for this topic. |

Welcome. Merged. Please see the post just above your post. If you have Firefox 12, there will be a wait of a few days or so for the patch to be released to all users.

Official information has been recently posted in another language section of this forum. A brief synopsis:
<<Patch (i) (and as needed, all the other previous patches) will be released gradually to all users by May 10. This is to provide for reduction of errors, and also to provide for faster response times for any errors that may be discovered.>> This remains closed to facilitate the management of sprawling repetition. ------------------ Sorry for the double post. I know it looks hideous, but I don't make a habit of it. |

1) Open your registry editor to the following key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\KasperskyLab\protected\AVP12\Data
2) Check the values under ProductHotfix and ProductHotfixNew 3) Please keep in mind that "Updates" are released in stages (not everybody will get them right away), but should be all set by May 10th. This is done to avoid the servers from being overloaded (due to a recent patch "I" release) and currently also practiced by big companies like Microsoft. REPOST
Hi, I have kaspersky internet 2012 ver 12.0.0.374 for about for months now and very happy with it but today have just uninstalled both google chrome and firefox then reinstalled them again. I would like to know how to get the kaspersky plugins again with the virtual keyboard BACK AGAIN displayed in the browsers? NB. I UNDERSTAND THE SITUATION WITH FIREFOX, BUT NOT WITH GOOGLE CHROME. So i'll ask this question: Do I need to uninstall KIS 2012 and install again just to get the kaspersky icon and virtual keyboard in the Chrome web browser again because i clean installed chrome not updated it, or is there a way that I can somehow select that perticular bit to be reinstalled from the KIS disk? It just seems very odd to me that I would need to do this just because i clean installed chrome! |
