I found an Android Kaspersky Parental Control app (beta) which blocks web browsing categories and applications, however it still lets through MANY proxy servers. This could be fixed if the application had an option to allow only listed websites, like KIS for desktops PC has.
The app can also be annoying many times blocking sites which already are on the exceptions list. The app redirects you to an Kaspersky site after the request to a site is denied which can be annoying as it does not allow you to simply go "back" |

I tried simply installing another web browser and it worked. Kaspersky Parental Control didn't block Opera, even though it wasn't checked under "allowed applications". I was able to browse porn sites for half an hour before the app started filtering the web.
As for proxy servers, a good way to block them would be if the app didn't even allow Google searches for them. If you typed anything like "anonymous proxy" or "cloaked browsing" it would block like some another web filtering application does. This post has been edited by Balky321: 20.04.2012 18:43 |

I installed this app to see what it was like.
But, now I seem to be stuck with it as I cannot uninstall it! I have tried all methods of uninstalling, other than a factory reset of my phone, which I do not want to do. Can anyone assist me with uninstalling this app? Thanks |

Hi All,
We have updated version on Glpay market now uninstall option is available in additional settings in KPC user interface. BTW, we didn't ban uninstallation possibility on purpurse it is removed by system for all device administrator applications. To uninstall such applications you should disable the device administrator feature for Par Control in the device's settings. -------------------- Regards,

Ive just downloaded the parental control app.
It's great. All other parental software are extremely easy to circumvent or delete. The only problem (which i would think is not too hard to fix) is that in the 'app control' section there is an icon called 'standard apps' which cannot be toggled on or off. Contained in standard apps is youtube and readers hub where one can view porn. Can this be updated to give us the choice to view ALL APPS and chose which ones we feel are appropriate for our children. (P.s. I represent a very large body in search of a proper parent app control- were this to be fixed I would be able to get hundreds to download this app.) Thank you so much! |
