Hi,

We have email from btinternet.com powered by Yahoo. I have set up Outlook correctly with IMAP settings for the email, however it will only syncronise folders when Kaspersky is disabled.

When enabled I get the following error.

Task'Synchronizing subscribed folders for (account).' reported error (0x800CCC0F) : 'Outlook cannot synchronize subscribed folders for (account). Error: TCP/IP connection was unexpectedly terminated by the server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).

If anyone can help I would be very grateful.

Hi Dave,

Without knowing which version of Kaspersky, Windows and Outlook you use, I can only refer to my own experience with KIS 2012, Windows 7 and Outlook 2010. Unfortunately in such a configuration I can confirm that the Outlook client got some trouble in synchronising IMAP folders, receiving/sending e-mails via IMAP, if Kaspersky will be used with standard parameters. The Outlook errors are amongst others 0x800CCC0F and 0x800CCC05. The errors might occur on every sync process up to only once a day.
The issue is now for several months well known at Kaspersky lab and to my knowledge they see Outlook as the reason for those errors and plan to talk to Microsoft for a long-term solution. I personal believe the reasons for those errors are caused by a potential none-standard conform IMAP implementation in Outlook and a bug in Kaspersky Internet Security.

So far, I can only offer you following workaround: in Kaspersky deactivate the 2 Outlook plug-ins in the section "Mail-Anti-Virus" and "Anti-Spam". Restart your PC after you deactivated those 2 plug-ins.
The downsize of this workaround will be that Anti-Spam will not work at all and some protection algorithm are no longer used. However, KIS experts claim that still all e-mails whether those are from POP3 accounts, IMAP accounts or Microsoft Exchange server will still be scanned by Kaspersky.

I have to agree with Kurt here.

I have also seen a number of problems with Outlook 2003/2010 and GMail IMAP synchronization and I believe the add-ins were also causing intermittent connection problems with a number of my clients installations of Outlook 2003 connected to Hosted Exchange Server 2010 on Windows 7x64. Both Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 and 2012 installations.

The Kaspersky Outlook add-ins were causing intermittent problems with GMail IMAP folder synchronization (same error messages you received) and with maintaining the Hosted Exchange server connections; the connections would randomly drop and go offline. In a couple of cases they were also preventing Outlook from shutting down properly. As soon as the Kaspersky Outlook add-ins were disabled in the registry, the problems seemed to disappear.

I had to actually disable the integration of the two Kaspersky add-ins located at:

(32-Bit): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins
(64-Bit): HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Office\Outlook\Addins

by changing their LoadBehaviour to 0 or 2 (default is 3). Disabling the Outlook integration in the Kaspersky menus or in the Outlook Add-Ins [COM Add-ins] menu section did not completely disable the add-ins; they still had to be disabled in the registry to fix the issues.

While not ideal it did solve the problem. (Note: I have not checked in a couple of months to see if Kaspersky has fixed these issues in any of their latest updates.)

Hi,
I have the following big problem :
I am IT man for several clients and I installed last friday 2012-09-21 kis2013 on pcs.
Some of them with Win XP, Win7 pro 32b


W7 equipped with outlook 2007 12.0.6661.5003 sp3 MSO 12.0.6662.5000
Outlook configured with Google apps sync for a professional gmail (user@hiscompany.com)
Since then no user was able to send any email from outlook
Even if Kaspersky is temporaly disabled
Even if kaspersky email protection for outgoing emails is disabled
Even if kaspersky email protection is totally disabled

As those users are professional, I had to go back to kis2012

I did test with both kis2013 00.3370 and 01.4190 (french versions)

I do not dare to install kis2013 on all other pcs (around 100)
Do you have idea?

For info : for the same client, a WXP pc with outlook 2003 configured with a simple pop account and kis2013 works fine .

Am I the only one to have Google Apps Synced with outlook 2007 or the only one to get stucked with outgoing mails due to upgrade to kis2013 ?

Uninstall KIS > download and install SP1 for windows 7 > clear temp files: http://support.kaspersky.com/kis2011/error...p;qid=208279128 > reinstall KIS > reboot > do a database update > reboot.

It took me time to understand that I am not informed on my personal email for new answers.
Thank for reply.

However, I did what you told me :
uninstall kis2013
deleted everything under %temp% , even also in c:\windows\temp
installed W7 SP1 (amazing, my windows configured to install automatically all update (excepted one about live essentials which I don't use) did not proposed me SP1: so, I did manually downloaded and installed
installed also around 12 updates about .net consequently to SP1 installation
rebooted
reinstall kis2013
reboot
updated database
reboot

And It still doesn't work.
even after disabling application control and outgoing emails control

Note that with a outlook profile with imap configuration, sending emails works fine !!
It is only with the google apps sync profile in outlook for a professional gmail account that it does'nt work ...



I cannot upgrade KIS for around 50 clients using outlook mapi config !

I also had the same problems, ever since installing KAS 2013 which clearly isn't compatible with Google Apps Sync + Outlook
Un-installed KAS2013, re-installed KAS2012 - fixed.

Not a good start, so will wait a few months before trying KAS2013 again sad.gif

OS: Win 7 (7061), 64bit
Outlook 2010 (14.0.6123.5001)
Google Apps Sync (3.2.535.947)
KAS 12.0.0.374 VS KAS 13.+ (as at 22nd Oct 2012)

I am experiencing this same issue with latest version of KIS 2013 and Google Apps. Tried calling customer service and emailing. They both gave me the same useless answer of making it a Trusted app in settings.

The only way I can get an email to send is by disabling everything (both KIS and the add-ins in Outlook 2010). I don't suspect a patch/resolution is forthcoming when Kaspersky can't even admit there is a problem yet.

I realize this is an old thread, but has this bug been fixed in KIS 2013 and/or Outlook? I'm using Outlook 2007, and have no problems with IMAP servers. I'd like to upgrade Office, but won't if it means I can't use Outlook with Kaspersky. KIS's anti-spam filters are the only thing that makes email bearable.

Hi. I have had the same problem. I have been racking my brain on my main PC trying to work out why I could not send and it was not until I installed KIS 2013 on my laptop and then could not send that I realised the culrpit. I suspected Kaspersky but dismissed it when I disabled its add-ons and its protection. Very annoying, I hope this is resolved soon.

I will contact support now.

I too encountered this issue back in November 2012.

This is the response I received from Kaspersky support:

Unfortunately there's an issue with outlook at the moment and our developers are working on the issue for a fix. However the temporary fix for this is to delete a driver, which will disable your email protection; or you can downgrade back to 2012 (which will be fully functional.)

If you'd like to go about the deleting the driver file for this, you'll need to do the following:
Start > My Computer > C:/Local Disk > Program Files (x86)(if applicable, otherwise just program files).
Go to your Kaspersky Lab Folder > Kaspersky Internet Security, find the mcou.dll file and delete it.

Please keep in mind this WILL turn off your email protection, so do this at your own risk. I would personally recommend downgrading back to 2012 until there is a patch released for the issue.

Sorry for any inconvenience this has/will caused.


I downgraded to KIS2012 and have been waiting on a patch. However, just checked the latest build and there doesn't appear to have been a new release since November last year!
