Hello my friends, few months ago i bought Asus Maximus Extreme IV mobo, which came with KAV license/key with it, now i want to know...is this key legit or just an trail version? oh and btw, what version of KAV is there? can i download KAV 2012, and just use that key from the CD?

Also any firewall/HIPS to use with KAV? do you guys think Online Armor free is fine to use it with it, if i add OA to KAV exclusions and KAV to OA exclusions? thanks!

Hello,

The best way to get the latest version on your system is download and install the latest KAV 2012 installer.

Installing multiple protection layers is however mostly creating main conflicts on a system
and Armor Online shows also up in the KAV incompatible list.

Regarding the licence that you obtained from ASUS it looks like in the past some users got into problems when trying to activate the product :

A first safe step is maybe proceed with an install of the 30 day trial
and at the end of the evaluation period try the key unsure.gif

Hello.....Along with what Berny has advised it is also worth looking at this link if using another firewall.

http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208283746 Don't discount Win 7's firewall which is their best one yet.

Also if you click on "show more results from Asus in this link ...the first one says it comes with a 1 year licence.
