The following program seems highly suspicious:
C:\Windows\Installer\{467D5E81-8349-4892-9E81-C3674ED8E451}\Icon09DB8A851.exe that is being launched in my startup programs. The link name to this file is vpngui.exe however the cisco vpn file by that name runs from a different folder. Kaspersky Internet Security 2011 claims that is is clean upon a scan however there seems to be buzz in the internet world that this is a redirect virus. It may be a cooincidence, however my windows 7 action center alerted me that kaspersky had crashed. If this is a virus, which it does appear to be, how did it infect my computer? How can I ensure my machine is clean, and how can I keep it from coming back? What are the recommended next steps? |
