I few days ago I noticed several unknown files had appeared on my D drive ( used mainly for data).
These consisted of a string of numbers and letters viz: 3590F75ABA9E485486C100C1A9D4FF06zzzzz..zzz.zz.rar. I removed them all - about 1gb in total - and decided to backtrack to a previous restore point. On completion my Kaspersky Internet Security database was corrupted. I did a repair and then updated the database and ran a full scan. No problems were found. Today another similar file has appeared on my D drive again. Can anyone help? I am using Windows 7 Home on my Acer desktop computer. |

Hello......Have a look through this link where you will see the exact same file as yours.
3590F75ABA9E485486C100C1A9D4FF06ZZ.Z...Z....ZZZZ....read through and even though its been uploaded to virustotal on at least 2 occasions ..about 5 months ago firstly and the last being 6 days ago . Nothing conclusive has been found and in the link it disappeared by itself. http://forums.v3.co.uk/showthread.php?t=211317 http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii64/To...96/Picture1.jpg While Spywareterminator in itself is not on the list of incompatible with KAV,Clam antivirus is and this i understand comes integrated with SPY/Term....So do you notice any problems like slowdown or similar even though thats not your question. Anyway there is nothing conclusive in the link and they don't consider it a danger so it is possible it has something to do with SpywareTerminator but i accept it could be another program you have installed....possible log files maybe. I see nothing else untoward in your GSI but another member or moderator may spot something |

Thanks for the help. I do have slowdown issues which started when the rogue files appeared. Should I uninstall SpywareTerminator? Hi again.....Well if you do have slowdown problems certainly uninstall it as it will cause all kinds of conflicts. Spyware Terminator includes: Fast spyware scanning * 100% real-time protection * HIPS protection * Antivirus protection...so everything that KAV is doing. http://www.spywareterminator.com/features/...e-features.aspx Follow this to disable it and then remove from programs/features............. http://www.spywareterminator.com/support/f...d=spyterm_help5 Give it a few days and see if those strange files come back. Hi,
Uninstalled SpywareTerminator but this hasn't solved the problem. Already, several rogue files have appeared on my D drive in the last couple of hours. |

I've discovered, by monitoring every program opened, that the files are created during a scan by CCleaner.
The settings were set to "wipe free space". This creates several files which, in my case, sit on my D drive. They disappear after a few days. So mystery solved. Thanks for your help. |
