Hi Guys
We have a similar problem. Fortunately we have only installed 1212 on two machines and we have noticed a slowdown. Simple things like spell check before sending emails, printing, opening the thesaurus in MS Word. All these things take much longer then with MP3. The Kaspersky support guys have explained to switch off Self-defense which seems to help. I have attached a file sent to me. KAV explained that these are workarounds till they fix the issue. Really speaking I have only noticed improvements with turning of the Self-Defense. RAM

We just picked up Kaspersky a couple months ago.... It's been a pain in the @55. I'm glad I found this post (coincidently looking for something else), I have all these problems and more.
I tried to get some support from KAV a while back about deployment and was so disappointed in their support I don't want to call back. I went firm wide with MP4, never having MP3. I am also hiding from a mob. Does anyone know if I can push MP3 over MP4 withou removing it first? One reboot is enough if I can keep it down to that. Thanks to everyone here. |

Hi
phr3n1c - Thanks I'll ask KAV support. jadams159 - From my experience you needed more then one reboot when installing MP3. Not sure if you can downgrade. The initial MP3 package does not contain the latest signatures, if I remember correctly it installs with 2007 signatures. I believe the proper procedure is to Install -> Reboot -> Update -> Reboot -> Run full scan. The good thing about MP4 is that you can update the signatures in the installation package, you cannot to this with MP3. Also MP4 does not ask for the computer to be restarted as much as MP3 did, because of updates. RAM |

Having the exact same issue with 700 PC's. I've just turned off some of the protection bits. According to the workforce members it started just a couple days ago - but today it's hit us full force. A lot of workstations are just plain locked up. Will be placing a support call here in a minute.
Version number is 6.04.1212 |

Good Afternoon,
Give a try : create a new package without NDIS option. Re-deploy the package. I bet it will solve many of your performance problems. best regards |

Wont be getting a renewel from me for sure I'm in the process of doning that. Although, I'm doing it on a "complain about speed, downgraded the department" basis. I've already got enough things to do without having to spend time downgrading everyone's AV becuase it's made their machine unuseable. |

It was fine before the thanksgiving break, was bad at the start of the week and is absolutely crippling us now, and Kaspersky support hasn't responded to my response to their suggestion I turn off quick scans, which weren't on. Going to try disabling things for now. |

I know a lot of you are struggling with this, and I got the following PDF back from Kaspersky support regarding this so I'm including it.
I've tried the first 3 things (napfix and the exclusion and trust on SSV. I also disabled SSV addon via GPO). I'll let you know how it works out. Too big to attach so: http://jfield.posterous.com/pdf-on-how-to-...v-mp4-slow-boot -Jeff |

I can't believe Kaspersky hasn't just released a patched client, or just start over. This is cr@p. |

Resurrecting this thread. Has anyone tried the pdf fix (above) with good results? Or, are there any other discussions that address this problem? I cannot say exactly if Services.exe is the sole problem but we are experiencing significant performance drop and intermittent system stalls on our network. Uninstalling Kaspersky entirely has resolved this performance issue. But this is not what we want as we have payed a good amount of money for this softwaree (admin kit 6.0.4.1212).

Try to deploy build 6.0.4.1424, it should resolve those performance issues.

I might try the newest version of MP4 this summer, but I wasn't planning on having to do such thorough testing for an AV product. |

Hi, we had the same issue here with one computer that had the CPU always at 30% while my computer with the same OS and the same version of KAV was at 3, 4%
I unninstalled KAV 6.0.4.1424 and CPU consuption was reduced to 2% I re-installed KAV 6.0.4.1424 and the CPU went up again to 30% I disabled the Firewall component under Anti-Hacker and the CPU consumption was reduced to 2% I didn't find any unusual activity under Anti-Hacker / Report so I kept it disabled. It's weird because my computer with the Firewall enabled keeps the CPU with a low consumption.. Regards, Ricardo Santos This post has been edited by cmlagoa: 23.04.2012 18:42 |

Thanks Helmut but unfortunately it didn't solve the problem:
process.png ( 46.83K )
Number of downloads: 28On that picture, by network I mean the network interface card. I'll leave the firewall disabled on that computer. If anyone come with a different solution I'd be glad to know. Thank you! This post has been edited by cmlagoa: 26.04.2012 19:20 |
