Running Vista Home Basic.

I am trying to install KIS 9.0.0.736. I get the following error immediately the installation starts:

NSIS Error

Error writing temporary file. Make sure you temp folder is valid.

As far as I can see all temp folders are valid

Please help

Thanks richbuff and Whizard for your suggestions. I had tried most of these before making my post. This ended up being one of those unusual situations where any standard advice wouldn't apply.

The solution:
I discovered that the users desktop folder had been moved to %USERPROFILE%\favorites! From here Windows had no idea where to find the TEMP folder. Once I had re-arranged this desktop folder to the 'correct' location on the drive KIS installed first time and without any problems. bt.gif
