Hello,
These versions of MySQL can be use with Administration Kit 8.0 : MySQL Enterprise 5.0.60 SP1, 5.0.70, 5.0.82 SP1. MySQL 5.0.67, 5.0.85 Source: http://support.kaspersky.com/ak8?level=3 But, I recommend you to use MS SQL 2005 Express Edition to manage up to 5,000 hosts and to use MS SQL 2005/2008 (not a free version) to manage more than 5,000 hosts. -------------------- My personal spam pot: billy11@free.fr

Thank you for reply.
I know all you write, but MS SQL is not a free product and cost a lot of money. I know too why mysql is not recommanded for more that 5000 computers... Some stored procedures have been not correctly writed. For example, to do a commit, some stored procedures test "if 0=0" It's seem to be writed with code generator. So, for sure, mysql is pretty slow... and not able to drive over 5000 computers. It's work... but it can work very better !! |

So if you want manage more than 5000 PC's without MySQL (for reasons exposed by you) and cannot license MS SQL 2005/2008, then you must install Kaspersky Administration Kit based in hierarchies (Master Server and Slave Servers) using SQL Express in all cases. I will look if i can use MS SQL master and slave solutions, but i am afraid that some commercial contract not give me another choice than mysql use. About mysql, i am sure that it can drive more than 5000 computers. I don't understand some choice have been made like using only innodb engine. The database is too slow on biggest server... and it can be better. Just want better... |

We use MySQL just fine on our Admin Kit installs. It runs very well for us. Use InnoDB not myISAM. 5.1 also has been working for us. If you are new to mySQL be sure to select the InnoDB database only during install(second choice).
Hope that helps. |

For sure it's work... but database is too slow...
When a querie take 340 seconds... i can't said that it work fine !!!! Can you send you log-slow-queries ? or statistic about time execution ? my moy average is about 134 seconds Innodb is a good engine if you use is correctly. Write a temporaly table with Innodb ( without using PK or FK ) is a bad thing. So i am sure that it work for a small and medium compagny... How computer are u trying to drive ? You're lucky that it work fine, but for me, if a program test " if 0=0"... i am very afraid. I am waiting for somebody official to help him to correct this ( for free !). |

If a query is taking 340 seconds. Even on 10,000 systems you have some issues beyond sql. What hardware are you running this on? Network issues?
