I was having trouble getting my guest VMs to receive IP addresses from my router's DHCP server with a bridged network adapter in both VMware Workstation and Server. My router would assign IPs to my host's MAC address, but the packets never translated to the guest OS, which would cycle through requesting an IP and reverting to a 169.X.X.X address. I traced the problem to Kaspersky. Both my computers I was testing on had Kaspersky Internet Security installed (one 2009 and the other 2010). Disabling protection or even exiting the program does not fix the issue. You have to completely remove Kaspersky for the problem to go away. Is this a known issue? Is there a setting that can be changed to allow bridged networking to work without removing KIS? Bridged networking works in VirtualBox and NAT networking still works in VMware. But I really need bridged networking to work in VMware and I'd like to still use my KIS licenses! I'm a long-time user and don't want to find a new AV just because of this one issue. Thanks!

Another user reports not having this issue, but he is running x86 Windows Vista. Could this only be a problem with x64? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
