Hey I just want to let everyone know that KIS2010 is blocking the windows experience index from completing in Windows 7. If you run the WEI with KIS2010 (maybe KAV as well I only have KIS2010 to test) installed the WEI will get all the way through but than come back with an error because the OS, Driver, etc. returned an error. If you look at the log for the WEI this is the error winsat\main.cpp:4736: ERROR: Unable to save validated results. No matter how many times you run the WEI it will always return the same error. I looked all over for a solution to the problem and finally found somebody who suggested removing KIS2010 because he had the same problem, I tried disabling it and running WEI but it still came back with the error so I used KAVRemoval tool and finally after about fifty attempts WEI completed as soon as KIS2010 was removed.

Does anyone know of a fix for this or will it have to come in an update? I would really like to use KIS2010 and I probably will just reinstall it now but I would like to know if there is any way to fix it for the future. Thanks.

BTW this was with .736 on Windows 7 X64

Hi,

I was having the same problem as BM2KTom untill I uninstalled KIS2010. I am running the same OS (Win7 - x64) and I was using the latest version of KIS 2010.

Orignally I thought it was a problem with WIN7 so I posted here.

http://social.answers.microsoft.com/Forums...72-08e143c8e77e

I posted the error log, system spec, DXDIAG and the WINSAT.log files which can be found:
%SystemRoot%\Performance\WinSAT\winsat.log

Thanks

Dave

but since my latest clean install on wednesday of win 7 home premium x64 and kis 9.0.0.736, i have also been unable to measure my wei.

everything else seems to work ok so far...

Hello and Welcome to the forum,

that's a known problem and will hopefully be addressed in a future update.

Thanks JanRei for confirming that this issue will be addressed in a future update. It is an annoying bug, though not important.

I hope its more than hopeful! Don't some games require a certain wei rating in order to play them, if thats the the case I would say it more than annoying.

I also have the same issue and hope a fix will become available very soon. Where can I find the earlier version of 2010 that you guys say will work. I looked on the download page but it has been replaced with the newest version... Thanks in advance...

I would not recommend to install an older version. Only version 9.0.0.736 supports Windows 7.

No, it is the only version that fully works on Windows 7. Unfortunately, there are some remaining issues that will hopefully get resolved soon.

With KIS 2010 .736 installed, Windows Experience Index will not work. It runs a while, but ends with the error: "The windows experience index for your system will not compute."

I was on the phone with MS yesterday for 3 hours and they couldn't get WEI to run. They are to call back tomorrow to try again.
Meanwhile, I did some more searching and found it's caused by KIS (KAV). You can't just shut KIS down, you have to uninstall it. Then WEI runs fine.
I uninstalled KIS, run WEI and reinstalled KIS.

Other than that, KIS (.736) seems to be working fine.

Well is a known bug list released with every release? I'm new to using Kaspersky so I don't know if there is a bug list but I spent hours of trial and error and googling trying to fix this problem and if it was a known bug and there was no bug list by the development team my question is, why? It would of been very helpful to know about this problem before installing KIS2010 on windows 7 for myself and the others in this thread.

With each release Kaspersky publishes the Releases Notes mentioning the main changes and the main known issues. Apart from that, for some problems Kaspersky writes articles for their Support page. Both ressources are not complete in this respect though and this particular issue seems not to be mentioned.

havin' trouble with windows experience thing?
well... just temporarily exit Kaspersky and run W7 Experience and wait until it has rated your system
after that, Start Kaspersky again by clicking it on the start menu

This solution didn't work for me at all !

Only remedy, fully uninstall kaspersky and run the W7 Experience then re-install kaspersky

Didn't work for me either but I'm waiting for a patch/fix before I unsinstall as I don't need the WEI at this time.
