Trying to install the new upgrade but installation refuses to proceed as it thinks there is a version of McAfee already installed on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 2200). There isn't, but there was originally a Dell pre-installed trial version of McAfee on the laptop. I reckon this still exists somewhere inside Dell's recovery system.

McAfee does not show in the Add or Remove Programs section of Control Panel, so it's impossible to remove anything.

At the moment, I'm stuck in an endless loop with KIS trying to remove something it can't find.

Help please!!

Geoff

Hi,

Try to run the removal tool as per: http://support.kaspersky.com/faq/?qid=208280258

See this for a McAfee Removal Tool. It should get rid of any leftovers. Run the tool, reboot, and then try to install.
