I have installed the latest Windows SP3 updates, but still have these msxml 4.0 sp2 files in my add/remove programs and want to remove them for security vulnerability issues. Can I do this? There are 4 of them from sp2 and I am running sp3 from what I see. Thanks!

I have this on three different PCs, all of which are fully patched totally up-to-date SP3. I tried removing, reinstalling, downloading patches etc and eventually gave up. It appears to be one of those things KIS gets wrong as nothing else reports it either. KIS tech support eventually said to just exclude them which means they've no idea how to sort it either...

msxml4 is no longer supported by microsoft so it can't be updated. The best advice is to ignore it. This was a big topic on this forum awhile back. Do a search for msxml4 to get a feel for the topic.

Although I delt with MSXML4 months ago, over the weekend I installed a HP Office jet printer. Guess what happened....MsxML4.dll showed up again in vulnerabilities. I just deleted MSXML4.dll from the directory where Kis found it. Control panel still has the KB954430 fix for 4.0 though so guess everything OK. Although, copy is still in sys32 directory vulnerability check does not find it now except in the recycler so will empty the bin
